I thought it would be fun to share my thoughts about a demographic to which I enjoy belonging, Baby Boomer women – born between 1945 and 1965.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Currently, there are about 50 million Baby\u00a0Boomer women in America alone!\u00a0Look at these interesting statistics…<\/p>\n

According to the\u00a0Wall Street Journal<\/em>, every eight seconds someone in the United States turns sixty as the baby boomers get older. Look at these statistics that happened when baby boomer women broke the \u201cglass ceiling\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

Women now hold nearly half of all executive, managerial, and administrative jobs in the United States.<\/p>\n

Women today earn 58% of all college degrees granted and 59% of the master\u2019s degrees. (National Center for Educational Statistics<\/em>)<\/p>\n

Women now comprise as much as 40% of the field in Ironman Triatholons. Huge numbers of women now compete in this grueling event of endurance and strength.\u00a0 (Paul Huddle, Multisports.com, Encinitas, CA<\/em>.)<\/p>\n

Women now\u2026<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Control\u00a04 trillion<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in annual consumer spending. ($4,000,000,000,000)<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Buy\u00a02 out of every 3<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0cars.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Take\u00a050%<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0of all business trips.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Control\u00a051.3%<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0of all the personal wealth in the country.<\/p>\n

_\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Influence 95% of all US consumer spending and make up 85% of all consumer buying.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Initiate 74% of all new business start-ups in the United States.<\/p>\n

We Baby Boomers are strongly bonded with one another because we\u2019re aging\u00a0together<\/u>. The absolute truth is that most of us don\u2019t like getting older because we\u00a0lose\u00a0things as we age!<\/p>\n

That\u2019s right \u2013 you know we do! We lose our smooth skin, good eyesight, strong muscles, and big chunks of our memory. We even occasionally look over our shoulders and wish for our youth again.<\/p>\n

However, what we\u2019ve gained is significantly more important than what we\u2019ve lost. We\u2019ve gained wisdom, empathy, perspective, and most importantly, an increased ability to love.<\/p>\n

Baby Boomers, I invite you to enjoy aging and take every opportunity to love more deeply and serve more often. As you do, your \u201cgolden years\u201d will be sweeter and filled with joy, purpose, and love.<\/p>\n
